More than twenty-five years after Jerri Blank first wobbled through the halls of Flatpoint High in a polyester crop top, Strangers with Candy remains a sacred touchstone of alternative comedy. But where are the brilliant actors who brought this twisted universe to life? From late-night network reigns and Star Wars galaxies to Broadway stages, here is where the cast is today.

1. Amy Sedaris (Jerri Blank)

Since hanging up Jerri Blank’s wig, Amy Sedaris has built an astonishingly diverse career: * Prestige Voice Work: Earning critical acclaim for her six-season run as Hollywood agent Princess Carolyn in Netflix’s BoJack Horseman. * The Star Wars Universe: Stealing scenes as fan-favorite mechanic Peli Motto across The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. * Emmy Nominations: Creating, writing, and starring in three seasons of her cult homemaking comedy At Home with Amy Sedaris on truTV. * Publishing: Authoring multiple bestselling humor books, including I Like You and Simple Times.

2. Stephen Colbert (Chuck Noblet)

Colbert’s trajectory following Flatpoint High became the stuff of television legend: * The Colbert Report (2005–2014): Hosted 1,447 episodes of his historic political satire, winning dozens of Emmys and inventing “truthiness.” * The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (2015–Present): Took over the Ed Sullivan Theater for CBS, leading the broadcast to eight consecutive seasons as America’s #1 late-night program.

3. Paul Dinello (Geoffrey Jellineck)

The architectural glue of the franchise: * Directing: Directed the 2005 Strangers with Candy feature film and Nickelodeon’s Gym Teacher: The Movie. * Executive Producing: Served as supervising producer and core writer on both The Colbert Report and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. * Literature: Co-authored Wigfield and Simple Times with Sedaris.

4. Greg Hollimon (Principal Onyx Blackman)

The beloved Chicago improv veteran has remained an active, revered figure in American performance: * Film & Television: Appeared in films such as The Ice Harvest and television series including Chicago P.D. and Sirens. * Theater & Mentorship: Continues to perform and mentor young improvisers across the Chicago comedy community, where he is universally revered as an institution.

5. Deborah Rush (Sara Blank)

As Jerri’s coldly indifferent stepmother Sara, Tony-nominated actress Deborah Rush provided the perfect chilly suburban contrast. She has continued a distinguished screen career, notably playing Carol Chapman in Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black.
